The xray tech Vlad was wonderful with my elderly mom. Oscar got my mom a blanket from another department after mentioning she was cold. They were patient, gentle, and showed genuine compassion. We are very grateful for the excellent care.

My husband had a scary experience and we ended up in the ICU here. I cannot to you enough how excellent the care was! Every single nurse and every doctor was beyond amazing. We have ZERO complaints. We will be choosing St Joe's for all our needs from here on out. Thank you for the giving us the best care and making the entire stay comfortable.

I really like Saint Joseph Hospital they are very kind and help the people and they understand patients feeling I have been with my autism son in Saint Alexius hospital five days ago and they didn’t help me at all and they did give really hard time to me And they said my son has discharge paperwork and they keep telling me my Autism son pick up. They didn’t help me they report me to the Hoffman State police station. I really really have a hard time was with my Autism son, but I did call Saint Joseph Hospital and they said they are ready to accept my son and I did bring my son there and they help me very very nice and they understand my situation and my son and they transfer my son to the psychiatric hospital. I very thankful from them. Thank you very much.

While I understand that there's much concern these days about pain medications, both Elgin hospitals won't call your primary to confirm your current pain control regimen. They let you suffer until someone brings your medications to them from home. They treat everyone like a dope seeker and after 20 years with a painful, chronic illness, treated with narcotics, they'd rather have you in excruciating pain and going into possibly fatal withdrawal, than make sure you're comfortable by simply asking your primary physician for information about how you need to be treated. You're lucky to get a minimal dose of an antianxiety pill for what they're putting you through, as you try to explain to them that you don't intentionally make a patient wait for withdrawal symptoms to appear before you get them the adequate pain management, which you are entitled to by law. Nobody in this position WANTS to be an addict, but when you've spent decades obeying the current laws and not abusing your pain meds, only to be admitted to the hospital and have to pester your floor's head nurse every two hours for a dose of I.V. pain meds that's less than what you use at home, just to be able to get up to use the

I dont know how much I can state the gratitude I have for the staff at St. Joe's. I walked into the emergency room on Wednesday, April 29th about 3:45 pm having a heart attack, which of course I really didn't know. From the receptionist on I couldn't have felt more cared for. The professionalism in every aspect of my visit was on full display. They took me seriously, educated me, laughed at my jokes showed empathy for my ignorance of my situation and walked me through every facet of what was happening and what was going to happen. I'm so glad I took myself to the E.R. My cardiologist, Dr. Park, was patient with me and helped me understand what I needed to and he saved my life. All the nurses and other Dr's in the ER and the Cath. Lab were amazing and really treated my like a human being and made me a real partner in my own care. I spent 2 days in the ICU and met several extremely talented, caring and professional nurses who made me feel like family. I don't want to say names for fear I may forget a name, but they know who they are. Thank you ladies and gentlemen, you too saved my life and I can't thank you enough; thank you, thank you, thank you. I know I'm not out of the woods ye
